So the fact that being overweight is not good for your health is not new, but the recent studies on obesity have revealed that what really poses an even more dangerous threat to your health is excess body fat centered around the waistline and the abdomen.
This is the area of the body where several of your vital organs are located and a large waistline indicates a high level of visceral fat which can cause numerous health problems. In a recent study, medical doctors comparing individuals who had suffered a heart attack to those who had not, found even with similar body mass index numbers, the main difference was the high waist to hip fat ratios in those who have had a heart attack.
